Tony Blair must
feel as if he is in free fall. Nothing to do with sky diving although
his stomach is probably going through a similar sinking feeling
that “ab initio” sky divers experience when they leap
out of a plane for the first time. Sky divers rely on a parachute
to descend gently to the earth whereas Blair has only one thing
to rely on: his lies. Like a dishonest traveller selling lavatory
brushes or whatever, he has repeated his lies so many times that
he obviously believes them himself. Such self deception makes the
Emperor’s new clothes fantasy, pure child’s play!
Having said so many times that he was right to endorse Bush’s
wisdom about the Middle East , weapons of mass destruction , Axis
of Evil, etc etc, he should feel morally and intellectually eviscerated
as he continues to claim that he was right to go into Iraq in order
to create a stable democracy and make Iraq society into one that
everyone will embrace, But Blair believes that the few thousand
civilian “collateral deaths” don’t diminish his
world shattering achievement . Understandably, those who have been
appointed by the allies might be happy about how things are because,
under the government of Sadam Hussein , they weren’t allowed
into the political equation or even to live in Iraq. However it
is the innocent thousands, who have lost their lives since the initial
euphoria of Bush, dressed in full fighter pilots gear, announced
“ Gentlemen we have won the war ? ” who wouldn’t
agree, that is if they could return from the dead.
Fifty years ago such delusion would have qualified one for acceptance
for a Victorian asylum in a padded cell with specialised ECT treatment
to bring you back to normality. But then times change. During the
last three months, an unhealthy average of three thousand people
a month have been killed by the Bush/ Blair war of democracy which
is an appalling statistic to back claims of political achievement
but then once Blair has created a new fantasy, his mind transposes
it into realism .
One thing that frightens me about the new emerging structure of
Labour’s Britain is the amount of legislation that is being
ratified without being passed by parliament. It is the job of parliament
and MPs, as law makers, to pass necessary legislation that improves
the society in which we live. No bill can become a statutory document
and Act of Parliament without first receiving the Monarch’s
symbolic consent. So why all the secondary legislation without proper
parliamentary ratification ? Consolidating and codification that
is automatically passed without the public’s representatives
having a chance to monitor what is being covertly introduced and
passed virtually overnight.
Legislative power is invested in parliament which has the power
to make laws for the state. Both the House of Commons and the House
of Lords have the right to propose and draft new legislation and
it is this “Palace of Westminster prerogative” that
should give us the evolving legislation which benefits society in
general. Well it should but if it is not passed by Parliament, which
is the executive power of the state, what moral right has Tony Blair
to pass and create binding laws on a statute “by pass”
system (via civil servants) that is basically at the whim of the
Prime minister and the chosen ones who belong to his coterie of
nepotistic ministers ? The concept of the separation of powers protects
us from any subtle form of dictatorship within British democracy
but if a government ignores this safety factor, as Labour is guilty
of , there is nothing to prevent it from insinuating legislation
which only Tony Blair’s esoteric friends are privy to. Dangerous
and very similar as to how Hitler changed and evolved German society
until it was too late to stop its iniquitous progress.
And what is Blair doing now as he approaches the twilight months
of his tenure in office? Well, he is certainly using up a fair amount
of his carbon dioxide quota by his jet setting perambulations all
over the world and I imagine he sees himself as a great leader speaking
to the troops and other presidents, travelling from place to place,
desperately trying to establish himself as a world leader. Blair
clearly sees himself as an International diplomat of peace , a wrongs
into right for the Middle East, as he and his close cabinet friends
frantically try to maintain his image as a modern crusader against
the evils of terrorism . Different from the real crusaders but they
themselves were somewhat misguided in their concept of what had
to be done with what was then their “axis of evil” in
the form of infidels.
This week it amused me to see that Blair returned from his holiday
in America one day early because of trouble in Northern Ireland.
He actually is so stupid that he believes that nothing can be achieved
if he isn’t present; a clear sign of pure mediocrity . About
ten days ago we saw photos of Blair donning the Jewish cap as he
lit candles in Israel. Gimmicky indeed, although I wonder how many
people saw this as a gesture of empathy and understanding of other
races or the great dissimulator putting on the political style for
pretentious effect.
What a pity he used his intrinsic ignorance when, against the wishes
of the nation, he took England into a war that will have detrimental
repercussions for at least two decades and has caused the death
of dozens of young American and British soldiers not to mention
the many thousands of civilians who have lost their lives in the
new democracy and will continue to do so for many years yet. The
mess the Allies have created will be as messy as Northern Ireland
and could also last years.
Perhaps Mr Blair should enter the next “ big brother”
or “get me out of here I am a celebrity” It doesn’t
take much to realise that what Blair really wants is “Statesman
Celebrity” status. One could say that he already has it by
living in Downing Street but just because he lives in No 10, it
doesn’t mean that he has earned the No 10 accolade. There
have been many nerds , pratts and mediocrities living at no 10 and
residence within does not give automatic celebrity status.
It is pertinent to recall that after the French revolutionaries
killed off anyone with smooth hands and were simply related to the
old order, the mob took over the reins of government. This is analogous
with Blair and relevant because when people take over the reins
of power it doesn’t mean that they become leaders of ability.
Many of today’s politicians are perfect examples. Blair is
a hubristic giant among such people and travelling all over the
world as he is doing now doesn’t alter the fact that he is
really a big wanker.
The Tony die hard “groupies” are desperately trying
to maintain Blair’s image with what can only be described
as economy with the truth otherwise known as political lies or an
economy with the truth . And the spin continues although not as
much as it used to. Recently I heard Tony Blair being described
as being a brilliant barrister ! How was he a brilliant barrister
when he did very little work as a Barrister before entering politics,
I find difficult to understand. In my opinion, Tony Blair is an
ordinary person who was manipulated by faceless people who put him
in as leader of the Labour party for his chameleon qualities. Whatever
the colour, philosophy creed or ethnicity of Blair’s audience,
Blair will adjust his own ideas ( whatever they are if indeed he
actually has original ones ) so that he appears to be on the same
wave length and fit in with whatever group of people he is talking
to. This is to obtain maximum votes. Blair’s babes in 1997
was another vote catching labour adjustment to get women’s
votes but not because he is modern and magnanimous. In the next
election the leaders of both Conservative and Labour ( the word
new goes with Tony ) will be wooing the old age pensioners who will
be the largest group of untapped votes available .
And then there is the Bush / Blair pact. What exactly has Blair
got going with Mr Bush ? They seem very chummy and close buddies
and I have even heard the preposterous rumour that they are two
gays enjoying each others company ! If that’s the case good
luck to them although I reject such an idea . Mr Bush is very much
a heterosexual macho man with a genuine family background.
Then we have various conspiracy theories abounding both men including
a Princess Diana’s special which is even more fantastic and
goes like this : A nod and a wink was all that was required in many
a Chicago killing in the 1930s and the analogous conspiracy theory
is quite simple. If Princess Diana really was assassinated because
of her serious involvement with a Muslim and she was pregnant with
his child and was planning to marry him, thus creating an embarrassing
political situation which resulted in some kind of deal with the
American CIA and the British establishment, with perhaps a favour
given is a favour owed. “We helped prevent the British establishment
from losing face and now it can help us by backing us in the Iraq
war ? Somewhat far fetched but non fictional life can often have
more fantasy than fiction and something must have persuaded Blair
to back the war with Iraq when the whole country was against Britain
joining in. And if that wasn’t enough, Mr Blair knew the truth
of Weapons of Mass Destruction . Surely a prime minister couldn’t
be that stupid?
And now we have Blair the “green man” competing against
Cameron as he is on so many other fronts. Cameron, who is after
every brownie point he can get and saying so many things for so
many different groups because he wants to get the better of Brown
before the jamboree of the next general election starts in earnest.
But are they real or is he simply following in Blair’s footsteps,
the ultimate in dissimulation and spurious activities. Brown thinks
he is going to be the prime minister and Ken Livingston hopes to
be returned as Mayor and is planning to fleece the Londoners even
more than he is doing at the moment. In all we have a pretty desperate
group of politicians righting all the wrongs in our lives not unlike
the way Bush & Blair have turned Iraq into a democratic haven
and improved the lives of so many people.
And then just for our own good we are told not to fly and to help
us they add tax to airline tickets because planes pollute. Drive
less and tax motorists more because cars also pollute , tax drink
because alcohol is dangerous for us and we only tax cigarettes so
heavily because we don’t want you to smoke for the sake of
your health . Noble sentiments indeed and all very good and beneficial
for us. But what would happen if we complied with these mandates
and followed their subtle acts of spurious altruism. Well, for one
the country would go bankrupt. Without the increasing burden of
imposing even heavier taxes, England would be finished. In the medieval
times war was the most expensive commodity that emptied the Royal
coffers on numerous occasions. In our history lessons we were told
how bad the Barons were when they taxed the peasants to fund their
personal wars and acts of aggression . So what is different ? Yugoslavia
, Afghanistan , Iraq and other minor bellicose activities not to
mention the past atrocities committed in the name of the Royal Commonwealth
Empire of Queen Victoria.
Then there is the replacement of the Nuclear submarines . Only fifteen
billion pounds and that will probably be doubled by the time they
get round to finishing them. The channel tunnel was many billions
of pounds over the agreed budget and now we are already aware that
the London Olympic games will cost billions more than the original
quotation. So why bother to give estimates that everyone knows are
false and deliberately low to win the contract and where on earth
will the money come from? Several main sources. Indirect taxation
,booze tax, petrol tax and cigarette tax and VAT for starters. There
will be other new taxes created by each new Chancellor and as for
the Olympic games, they are scheduled to be partly paid by a little
extra added onto the Londoner’s council tax. Why not everyone’s
council tax ? After all we were told that the England was ecstatic
when the Olympic committee gave the job to London . The entrepreneurs
will certainly gain from the games but most Londoners wont enjoy
any advantage whatsoever and certainly wont be able to afford the
expensive tickets.
A few days ago it was announce that the government had agreed to
purchase for many billions of pounds, a new American attack fighter
bomber . What the hell is that all about ? After spending billions
of pounds producing the Euro Fighter , why is the government making
a deal with the Americans which has nothing to do with British Industry
. Another secret Bush Blair deal ? Its all very strange and immoral
and personally I think we are on the road towards political perdition.
Our society is being taxed to the hilt to make money to pay for
this government’s inability to manage the economy and to pay
for illegal wars.
The Blair hubristic megalomania is getting more and more farcical.
There is nothing more dangerous than a mediocrity trying to make
his presence recognised by history when all he has is the after
effects of spin creating fantasy from mediocrity without which,
such people would be forgotten . One thing is sure, Blair will go
down in History alongside Bush for their dishonesty and lies regarding
Iraq. Now that Saddam Hussein has been hanged I suppose that’s
it, or is it ? Another three thousand dead civilians for December
2006 and about eighty dead within hours of hanging Saddam Hussein
and it looks as though there will be no abating of the daily death
list. No wonder Blair and Bush cannot admit their lies and the very
obvious fact that the war was not the way forward, more a Neville
Chamberlain “peace in our time” situation. Bush’s
recent speech in which he has ordered another 20, 000 troops is
frightening .Already thousands of American soldiers have died in
the name of futility and when I heard his latest announcement I
recalled the illogical reasoning of General Haig’s words in
the 1914 – 1918 war as depicted in Joan Littlewood’s
“Oh what a lovely war” viz :- “ Our population
is greater than theirs and their losses are greater than ours …and
in the end they will have 5000 men left and we will have 10. 000
and we shall have won. And, while Bush is giving tongue to the idiot
phrases , Tony Blair could also have been Haig when in a short conversation
he had with God he said, “ Well god the prospect for a successful
attack is up to you” As a committed Christian rumoured to
be converting to Roman Catholicism Blair will obviously be improving
his communication skills with him above and that would go with his
Christian conviction that British and American troops go with Gods
blessing and approval.
And finally, I think the recent investigation into the oiling of
wheels by British Aerospace for Saudi Arabia’s multi billion
pound arms contract says everything for our society and Britain’s
political ethics , its morality and its claim for honest democratic
justice. The investigation upset the Saudi Arabian Royals who threatened
to take their custom for this enormous arms deal elsewhere unless
it was stopped. So what did Blair do? He called a halt to the investigating
enquiry . “Against the interests of the state” is the
classic statement trotted out when governments have something to
hide . Enormous sums of money involved and Britain stood to lose
too much. The moral of the story is simple . Ethics, morality and
judiciary punishment if its small money but if its big enough like
a multi billion pound arms deal then the government sells its soul.
Political prostitution is the name of the game and as long as the
sale of arms has such significance for England’s balance of
payments, Britain’s foreign policies will continue to spread
devastation across the face of earth. Two hundred years ago it was
the slave trade that was so important that it couldn’t be
stopped. Now its arms deals which are as lucrative to the government
as Drugs are to the Drug barons of the world and it is no coincidence
that there is a common factor with these two evils. Both destroy
youth . Weapons kill and Drugs do irreparable damage. And they talk
about the danger of carbon quotas ! So much bull shit , so much
establishment crap!!
